prophetic-position-300x300There are almost invariably two sides to the manifestation or fulfillment of a prophetic word. On one side are people who enjoy an advantage from the fulfillment of that word, and on the other side are those who suffer a disadvantage from its fulfillment. In other words, when a prophecy is fulfilled, some people enjoy the advantage while other people suffer its disadvantage.

When the prophecy concerning the birth of Christ was fulfilled, many people became beneficiaries. Blind man Bartimaeus received his miracle from blindness; this is recorded in Mark 10:46-52. In John 11:38-44, it is as well recorded that Lazarus was revived from death by Jesus Christ. Bartimaeus may have remained a miserably blind beggar and Lazarus could have been denied the opportunity to live again if the prophecy of Jesus’ birth had not been fulfilled. Today, because of Jesus Christ, once-hopeless sinners have been transformed into fortunate saints.

Unfortunately, some children who lived in Bethlehem at the time of Christ’s birth suffered a disadvantage. One wicked king called Herod ordered for their massacre. In his desperate yet futile attempt to find and destroy the Son of God, Herod resorted to killing all male babies in the land of the Messiah’s birth. Where you are can determine what would happen to you when a prophecy is fulfilled.

And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and His mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him. Matthew 2:13
