The entry and application requirements for Ireland’s medical courses differ between each university; however the minimum qualification for international students is the International Baccalaureate Diploma, or a qualification of a similar nature.

In addition to these qualifications you must also take the HPAT assessment test to measure your logical reasoning skills, problem solving abilities, and communication levels.
The score from your HPAT is used in combination with points awarded for your prior qualifications to determine your eligibility. In 2016 the current minimum total score required is 480 points.
Irish medical degrees take between four and six years to complete, depending on your chosen course, the university, and your own educational background.
In order to practice medicine in Ireland you must complete a year of internship of supervised medical and surgical training.
